Frequently Asked Questions

If you are a UAE resident, you are required to submit:

  • Copy of Passport
  • Copy of Residential Visa
  • Valid UAE Driving License
  • Copy of Emirates ID
  • Security Deposit

If you are a Tourist visiting the UAE, you need to submit:

  • Passport Visit Visa
  • Home Country Driving License
  • International Driving Permit
  • Passport holders of GCC, US, UK, Canada and certain other countries can drive on their home country license in the UAE.
  • Security Deposit

Please note you must possess a credit card to rent a car from us. You can also use a credit card of your friend or family as a guarantee. However that person needs to accompany you at the time of rental. Or you can use Debit card / Cash as deposit. Credit card is required as a guarantee against payment for the traffic fine/salik/any other traffic violation/damage to the vehicle/all extras other than the rental paid at the time of rental.

Under normal circumstances, deposit refunds are processed 30 working days from the date of vehicle return. This is to allow time for any delayed traffic fines or Salik charges incurred on your vehicle while it was in your possession. You may need to allow a few days in addition to this for inter-bank transfers or transfers to foreign bank accounts over which Yoko has limited control.

Since traffic fines sometimes generate several days after the incident is recorded / reported by the RTA, companies block the deposit amount on a credit card as a safety net for fines incurred on their leased cars while they were rented by you. This also helps in times when a rental car is damaged by the driver.

Salik charges are also recorded in a few days by the rental company to be paid by the driver.

Incase there are no fines or deductibles; the blocked amount is released within 14-20 days. On request, you can settle the additional charges in cash too if you do not wish to use your credit card.

No, our insurance does not permit 4×4 vehicles to be driven off-road.

After the car is booked online, the customer receives a confirmation email and the car is arranged for the pickup date. The car needs to be picked up by the customer at the car rental company or it gets delivered to the customer if that option is selected. In case of a cancellation, the customer must inform us at least 24 hours before for a full refund.
